Improving the Learning Outcomes of Deaf Students on Whole Number Material Using Color Card Media

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the learning outcomes of deaf students on the addition of integers are still low. This can be seen from the average learning outcomes below the minimum completeness criteria. The formulation of the problem is "How is the application of color card media to the material of adding integers to class VIII deaf students at SLB-X South Kalimantan. While the research method used is classroom action research (CAR). This CAR consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of of four activities, namely: planning, implementation of learning, observation and reflection activities. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII totaling 6 people. The data were obtained through learning outcomes tests. The results showed the average score of students in cycle I 50% and cycles II 100% , meaning that there is an increase in learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II, in which cycle II has exceeded the KKM. Thus, this study shows that color card media can improve the results of the ability of deaf students in mathematics lessons on the material of adding integers in class VIII SLB-C Pembina in Banjarbaru.
